The best pizza in Sweden

Lilla Napoli

Lilla Napoli

The passionate chefs at Lilla Napoli have a single goal when they come to work, and that is to make the perfect Pizza Napoletana, the way it is made in the birthplace of pizza, Naples. Have they succeeded? Come and find out! This restaurant has turned pizza baking into an art. Everything else is relatively immaterial to the owners, which you will understand as soon as you see the building the pizzeria is located in. Neapolitan pizza has very little to do with the Swedish variant. It is soft, fluffy, light and easy to digest. Compared to a typical Swedish pizza, a Neapolitan pizza is quite spartan and only contains ingredients that fulfil a specific purpose. One might call it stripped to the core. So be sure to come with an open mind and taste a different kind of pizza than you may be used to.

Experience Skrea Backe

Lisa Lemke doesn't just cook on TV. Together with her team, she also runs two fantastic restaurants in Skrea Backe.
Prostens Pizza

Prostens Pizza

Lisa Lemke and Marcus Nordgren love good pizza, good company and - not least - cooking with great ingredients. Drop by and taste the stone-oven baked pizzas and wonderful atmosphere in their ‘second’ living room at Skrea Backe. Since opening the doors to Prostens Pizza in the old vicarage, life in Skrea Backe has not been the same. The couple Lisa Lemke and Marcus Nordgren welcome everyone to drop by their ‘home’ and what they refer to as their second living room, where the old stone oven serves as the focal point. They make everything from Roman style pizza to appetizers with local ingredients in that oven. Lisa and Marcus have one goal with Prostens Pizza: To create the kind of experience they want when they go to the pub. Expect to share a table and food with each other, social eating, good, organic and natural wines, ingredients sourced from around Halland and a relaxed, fun atmosphere with delicious food. Garden bar In the summer, you can have a drink and order some snacks in the garden bar. The garden bar is ideal for those who could not get a seat inside the restaurant or at the outdoor service table. The garden bar fills the lawn with people of all ages, and you will almost certainly make some new friends over the course of the evening.
Skrea Matbruk

Skrea Matbruk

At the top of Skrea Backe, with a splendid view of the vineyards, meadows and pastures, the Skrea Matbruk has opened its doors. Skrea Matbruk’s theme is Italy. Here they serve truly home-made pasta, freshly baked foccacia and carefully selected wines. The food is prepared with a large proportion of local ingredients, organic and in season. Open year-round, but more in the summer.

You deserve “fika”

Depending on what kind of snack or coffee you think you deserve, there is something here for all families. And perhaps most importantly, for all the variations of energy in the children. Culinarily incredible coffee, classic cinnamon buns, lots of ice cream or child-friendly gardens to burn off the sugar.
Stålboms Konditori

Stålboms Konditori

One of Falkenberg’s oldest pastry shops has grown into something more. Stålboms is a pastry shop, bakery, café an a lunch restaurant. The outdoor seating is a nice oasis in the middle of town. Life’s too short to not indulge in a coffee with your favourite pastry every now and then. At least that’s what the staff at Stålboms Konditori believe, and we can only agree. It is easy to find yourself staying longer than you planned in the sunny garden, gazebo or the café’s charming indoor seating area. Stålboms Konditori sells bread, pastry and cakes, but you can also come for the breakfast buffet and a light lunch.
Sagocaféet

Sagocaféet

In the middle of the town lies a wonderfully colourful garden where children are allowed to play to their heart’s content. There is food available here, you can eat ice cream in large loads or munching on waffles. A favourite destination for children, Sagocaféet is located in Storans Trädgård in the middle of town and is open in the summer. At Sagocaféet, you can treat yourself to a delicious ice cream or waffle with cream and jam, or a cake buffet in an environment you won’t find anywhere else. The colourful kitchen furniture in the middle of the garden makes you feel like you are in a fairytale world. The Sago park is open to all children.

Lis Mejeri

Lis Mejeri

What used to be the old dairy in Stafsinge is now a charming restaurant - and home. A dinner at Lis Mejeri is far more than just a dinner. Here, you get to experience food with all your senses through the host couple’s love, attention to detail and clever ingenuity. Lis Mejeri is the establishment and home of Johan and Rina, two dreamers who make a living as food artisans and hosts. Making great food from local ingredients is their passion, and the ingredients should ideally be so local as to be within walking distance - either from their own garden or from one of the surrounding farms. The food is served with no frills, but a twist and a little sprinkling of magic. The gates to Johan and Rina’s restaurant/home are opened to guests at irregular intervals but typically twice a month. In other words, you’ll simply have to wait until they have come up with a new idea or unless you have an idea of your own and would like to borrow Lis Mejeri for an evening. Lis Mejeri accepts bookings for parties, weddings, cooking classes and catering. Keep an eye out for opening hours on www.lismejeri.se.

Gastrobar or fine dining?

Rådhustorget No:1A

Rådhustorget No:1A

Rådhustorget No:1A is something quite unusual: A big gastrobar in a small area. At Rådhustorget No:1A, the borders between dining area and kitchen are blurred as everything revolves around the bar. A gastrobar is a restaurant that combines pub culture with a dynamic and rather classy range of dishes and drinks. The word is a fusion of gastronomy and bar. Welcome to a dynamic and casual environment where you can slip into costume, straight from work or just as you are. Book a table in advance or just drop-in. If all the tables are occupied when you arrive, we recommend waiting at the bar with a good glass of bubbly, a cold beer or a full-bodied red wine. While sipping away, you can also let yourself be inspired by the wonderful dishes the chefs put together right in front of you.
Restaurang Gustaf Bratt

Restaurang Gustaf Bratt

The venerable restaurant Gustaf Bratt is located in a stunning building with an equally impressive view over the river Ätran and Tullbron. The restaurant serves rustic Swedish home cooking as well as a well-balanced tasting menu with wine. The restaurant is located within a half-timbered house built in 1861, but has a modern interior with a truly charming atmosphere. In the summer, you can sit out on the large outdoor patio, where talented musicians are often performing on stage.
