Joe Getaway is not a ranch in Texas, even though the name might suggest it. And no, Joe is not a cowboy with boots and a mustache – Joe is simply the three Gothenburgers Jansson, Olsson and Ekwall. Together they share a strong love of the hospitality industry – and a dream of creating something of their own.
The journey began in 2024 when they fell in love with a little gem in the middle of Ullared’s forests – formerly known as Ullared Paradise. They immediately saw the potential in the hand-timbered cottages, the sparkling lake and the tranquillity that surrounds the place. Since then, they’ve worked their way through fall, winter, and renovation dust – to create what is now called Joe Getaway.
Their vision is simple: to give guests a home to long for, where you can land, exhale and just be. Here, there are no reception times, no noise, no musts. Just you, the forest, the peace and quiet, and a place that feels like your own vacation home – but without having to trim the hedge or paint the fence.
The accommodations have been carefully decorated and modernized to combine rustic charm with modern conveniences. Joe Getaway is a place for both rest and adventure – where you can take a sauna by the lake, pick mushrooms in the moss, or go shopping at Gekås just five minutes away.
Here, simplicity and the beauty of life are at the center. And you can feel it – as soon as you get out of the car.
