Places to go sledging in Falkenberg

Has it been snowing? Well, then it’s sledging time! Get your thermals on and bring your family or friends out for a day in the snow. For everyone’s safety on the slope, please bring a helmet.

The slopes by Lyckebäck’s pond

At Västra Gärdet there are slopes that aren’t very steep and suit both young and older sledgers. Park on Lyckebäcksvägen and walk the path into the area behind Falkenbergs Elektriska.

Brittas backe (Britta’s slope)

Opposite the health centre’s parking lot is Britta’s slope. This slope is both steep and less so, and is suitable for both older and younger sledgers.

Kristineslätt

At Kristineslätt there are not only football matches to be seen and skating: There is also an excellent sledging slope. This is a steep and long slope that suits somewhat older children well.
Park by the ice rink or by Falcon Alkoholfri Arena. During the winter of 2023-24, fine logs and a concrete barrel for grilling have been arranged.

Trollabacken

By the exercise track at Slätten is the so-called Trollabacken. It’s a short and wide slope, perfect for the youngest. Bring your “fika” basket and enjoy a day in the woods.

Vallarna (The Mounds)

Behind the old graveyard just before Tullbron (The Tollbridge) is a small slope that is wide and quite short. Suitable for both older and younger children. Close to the town centre if a “fika” break is needed.
You find parking along the churchyard and by the Vallarna playground. Then follow the gravel path from the playground towards town, along the churchyard wall.

Ätrans skidcenter (Ätran Ski Centre)

Ätran Ski Centre makes it possible to combine cross-country skiing with sledging. Perfect for the whole family. Here there is a barbeque to grill your own if energy replenishment is needed.
