Hike around Knobesholmssjön
Knobesholmssjön, or Borrsjön as it is also known, is a small lake with beautiful surroundings, just outside Asige. This is a perfect excursion destination when you want to get some exercise. There is also a barbecue area with a great view.
A peaceful place
Lake Knobesholm is very beautiful all year round. Even in winter. The many peninsulas and the varied nature make the area exciting for the whole family. Especially to walk over the footbridges and the bridge over rushing water. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to Knobesholmssjön from central Falkenberg.
Go for a walk
Around the entire lake there is a nice walk that is about 4.4 km long. It varies between gravel road, path and forest roads. It is possible to get around with a stroller but the path is quite narrow in places. So depending on the width of the stroller, it can be good to avoid if you do not like to be too adventurous.
NOTE! The path goes through privately owned land and the condition of the path can vary. The bridge over the river is in poor condition and there are few road markings.
Barbecue & overnight stay
If you follow the road from the parking lot to the right, after about 1 km you will reach a shelter with a barbecue area. You can bring your stroller here. The shelter is very nicely located on a headland. It is possible to book overnight through Friluftsfrämjandet, on tel. 073-3146327
A family with children gives tips. This is how we do it:
“We usually turn right from the parking lot when we walk around the lake. This makes the backpack with the picnic easier to carry on the longer distance. We stop for a while out on the headland at the windbreak. When we leave in the morning, we usually bring something to grill, usually sausages and breadsticks. When we make an afternoon excursion, it will only be coffee. This time of year we bring wood so we can make a small fire. It can be good to warm cold fingers and it’s cozy too. Just make sure you build it safely and bring water if it’s not available in the area so you can put it out properly.”
Swimming & fishing
Kobesholmssjön unfortunately lacks a good beach. If you want to swim in a more accessible place, we recommend nearby Nyhagasjön. There are both jetties and diving towers. If you would like to fish in Lake Knobesholmssjön, you can buy a fishing license from Roland Alexandersson on tel. 070-842 17 00.
Directions: From Falkenberg, drive south on road 767 to Slöinge, then follow signs for Asige. In Asige turn left towards Årstad/Abild, then follow signs for “Ekomuseum Tunnbinderi”. Drive through the Knobesholm farm and after a few hundred meters turn left onto a gravel road, at signs for Hallandsleden, and you will soon reach the parking lot.
