Limited access on Strandpromenaden
From Monday, 24 August 2026, to Wednesday, 31 March 2027, Falkenberg Municipality will be carrying out construction work on Strandpromenaden.
While the work is underway, access will be limited. Parts of the promenade will be closed, and pedestrians and cyclists will need to follow the signs and use the temporary route around the construction area.
The work is part of the development of the area along the River Ätran. Falkenberg Municipality has received a donation of SEK 30 million to improve the riverside route and make it safer, more accessible and more attractive.

Did you know that it only takes roughly half an hour to walk from downtown Falkenberg to the seaside? Walk towards Tullbron and follow the river Ätran down to Skrea Beach.

The town by the sea

Turn down by the ruins of the old castle, just by the eastern fortification of Tullbron, and you’ll arrive at Strandpromenaden, which connects the town to the sea. You will definitely want to bring your camera along for this trip. The area offers an amazing view of Tullbron, the rooftops of the Old Town and the stunning silo towers by the harbour. You will also pass by Falkenberg’s marina, after which you will soon arrive near the sea and the long Skrea Beach.

Strandpromenaden was built around 1920 as a state relief initiative. The architect was the town’s head gardener at the time, A.F. Bergkvist.
