Kattegattleden celebrates 10 years!
Sweden’s most beautiful cycle route reaches double figures. The stretch between Helsingborg and Gothenburg is packed with fantastic nature, farm shops, restaurants and attractions, not least in and around Falkenberg.
Here are some tips on things to experience along the way, from Ugglarp in the south to Morup in the north.
When you cycle the Kattegatt Trail, it is important to take many breaks, to enjoy and experience. When the route goes over from Halmstad to Falkenberg, it fits well with the first detour in scenic Ugglarp. Have a bite to eat at Ugglarp’s camping restaurant right by the sea or buy fresh vegetables from Ugglarp’s green.

If you were to pedal past Ugglarp, it will not be long until the next stop. In Långasand you eat well at Liam’s at the beach hut, or a coffee at Kilagårds gröna, which also has a farm shop with self-service.
The tour continues towards Falkenberg with nice places along the way where you are invited to a photo, a coffee or water break. Look all the way to the horizon from Smörkullen’s viewpoint or take a seaside walk in Grimsholmen nature reserve.

You start to approach Falkenberg town and are met by Hansagårds camping, which is next door to popular Skrea beach. Here, restaurants and accommodation options abound. For example, the Ocean Hotel or the classic Falkenberg Strandbad with its award-winning spa.

From Skrea beach it is not far to the center where you will find everything a small town should have. Restaurants, accommodation, attractions, culture and entertainment. With the old stone bridge Tullbron as its heart, Falkenberg’s center is charming and well worth spending a night in before the tour continues.

Get back on your bike, continue along the coast and finally land in Olofsbo. Here you relax on the beach at Olofsbo camping.
Nearby you will find the picturesque Morups Tånge and the opportunity to stay at the rural Söndre Gårds Bed & Kitchen.
You are starting to approach Varberg’s part of the trail, but before that, explore the cozy fishing community of Glommen and finish with a dinner at Restaurant Eldsaga overlooking the sea.

These are just some of the experiences along the Kattegat Trail. Bring the family, a group of friends or why not take a trip on your own and create your own trip – a trip you will not regret.
