In the first episode of the 8th season of the Swedish fishing TV show Fiskedestination, the host Johan Broman shares his experience of fishing in Falkenberg: Pike-perch in Fegen, trout on the coast and of course salmon in the river Ätran.

Johan Broman had some beautiful days in Falkenberg in September of 2021. The show was aired on the Swedish TV channel TV4 in May 2022, and is available on AppleTV, TV4+ and Sportkanalen in Sweden.

Fine fish

First in the program Johan and his team goes to Fegen to try midwater spin fishing to catch pike-perch or zander. More than one fish rises to the bait! They then get to the coast and try out trout fishing. Of course they also do some salmon fishing in the river Ätran with two handed fly rods. On the fifth throw a nice salmon bites! Johan had the help of a professional guide from Fiskeguide i Falkenberg, so perhaps it is no wonder that the catch was so good.

Good food

Even if you aren’t particularly interested in fishing, the program is full of beautiful views from Falkenberg and it ends with live outdoor cooking by Knutur Kristjansson, proprietor at the gastro-bar Rådhustorget 1A.
