Award-winning cafes in lovely settings.
Borgmästargården

Borgmästargården

Grab a coffee and sandwich on the go or take a seat and enjoy an open sandwich on Danish rye bread, warm sourdough sandwiches or the salad of the day. The café also sells plenty of tasty treats and classic wheat bread. What used to be the old mayor’s residence is now a café and pastry shop where you can have your breakfast, lunch and coffee break. The café combines tradition with innovation. Borgmästargården’s philosophy is to conserve everything and reduce food waste to an absolute minimum, which is why the establishment has a fluid menu. What the café sells varies from day to day, depending on the season and availability of ingredients. No matter what they are dishing up on a given day, you can be certain that they have put a great deal of thought and care into it. The café is a lovely meeting place, decorated with quality materials, furniture and porcelain by famous designers. There is an outdoor seating area facing Storgatan and in the sunny courtyard.
Solhaga Stenugnsbageri

Solhaga Stenugnsbageri

In the heart of Slöinge, you will find the award-winning Solhaga Stone Oven Bakery and garden café, which is open every day all year round. An old outbuilding with a wood-fired stone oven has been transformed into a modern craft bakery where sourdough bread and sweet pastries with a focus on fine grains are baked. Croissants and pain au chocolat are rolled with real butter, and both jam and vanilla cream are made from scratch here. Solhaga Stone Oven Bakery has been rewarded with several prizes for its solid craftmanship, including from the Skåne Culinary Academy and White Guide Café. In the summer when we have many guests, our bread hatch on the back of the bakery is open for those who want to buy bread and buns to take home. Café in the garden and in the lounges Besides a variety of sweet pastries, you can choose between cold and hot sandwiches with the best from the surrounding farms. Coffee from Slöinge Coffee Roastery, tea from Bergstrands, hot Valrhona chocolate, or selected cold drinks are served with this. In good weather, you can sit down in the blooming garden or on the veranda. During the cooler seasons or in uncertain weather, there is also the possibility to sit indoors in the white house, which was previously a residence but has now been transformed into a serving area. During the low season, the lounges in the house are open only from Friday to Sunday. Space can be booked for groups of 6 people or more.
Stålboms Konditori

Stålboms Konditori

One of Falkenberg’s oldest pastry shops has grown into something more. Stålboms is a pastry shop, bakery, café an a lunch restaurant. The outdoor seating is a nice oasis in the middle of town. Life’s too short to not indulge in a coffee with your favourite pastry every now and then. At least that’s what the staff at Stålboms Konditori believe, and we can only agree. It is easy to find yourself staying longer than you planned in the sunny garden, gazebo or the café’s charming indoor seating area. Stålboms Konditori sells bread, pastry and cakes, but you can also come for the breakfast buffet and a light lunch.

Vallarna

Mini-zoo & Adventure Course

Mini-zoo & Adventure Course

After a while at Vallarnas Lekpark, you may be ready for new adventures. Follow the path into the forest behind the playground and make sure to say hello to the goats, sheep and various birds. There is also a tricky obstacle course where you can test out your log-balancing skills. Go exploring Once you get to Vallarna, the massive playground has plenty of entertainment to keep the children occupied for hours. But there is far more than ‘just’ a playground to explore here. In the forest, you will come across “Vilses stig” (“The Path for the Lost”), which teaches you what to do if you get lost. The path has a total of 10 signs you can learn from. Mini-zoo Continue following the path, and you’ll soon find that it opens up to beautiful green spaces and a house in the distance that belongs to the mini-zoo. Sheep, goats and several different varieties of chickens and birds live there. If you are visiting in the spring, you will most likely also see a number of mischievous kittens and lambs running around. The pigs live a short walk away, past the entrance to Vallarnas Friluftsteater (Vallarna Open-air Theatre). Äventyrsbanan (The Adventure Course) Adjacent to the mini-zoo is a fun course where you have to try balancing on logs without falling down. Why not challenge each other to see who can get through it the fastest? The area also has tables and benches where you can take a break and have a snack.

Exciting art

With short legs, it is important that there are not too great distances in a city. Between shops and cafés, there is a lot of public art and well-ordered plantings. Boring, you might think? On the contrary, there is plenty of this art that even children find cool, interesting and fun.

Hermans has an ambition to let ingredients lovingly cultivated here in Falkenberg do most of the ‘talking’ in their dishes. The menu is heavily composed of flavours from Falkenberg. The restaurant serves everything from homemade hamburgers made from ground beef sourced from a local farm (Mostorps gård) to tasty liver from Thuressons Gårdsbutik. The vegetables are also sourced locally from Ugglarps Grönt, the ice cream from SIA-glass and various delicacies from Korshags. The list goes on. Lilla Napoli

Lilla Napoli

The passionate chefs at Lilla Napoli have a single goal when they come to work, and that is to make the perfect Pizza Napoletana, the way it is made in the birthplace of pizza, Naples. Have they succeeded? Come and find out! This restaurant has turned pizza baking into an art. Everything else is relatively immaterial to the owners, which you will understand as soon as you see the building the pizzeria is located in. Neapolitan pizza has very little to do with the Swedish variant. It is soft, fluffy, light and easy to digest. Compared to a typical Swedish pizza, a Neapolitan pizza is quite spartan and only contains ingredients that fulfil a specific purpose. One might call it stripped to the core. So be sure to come with an open mind and taste a different kind of pizza than you may be used to.
